Fine Color

Fine Color is made by immersing stainless steel sheets in a mixed solution of chromic acid and sulfuric acid for chemical coloring. It is a product that does not color with paint or dye, but grows a transparent chromium oxide film thinly on the surface and develops color by the interference action of light, and it is characterized by a color that changes slightly depending on the angle of light and the angle of viewing.

 The transparent oxide film is inorganic and very thin (under 0.2μｍ). Since the oxide layer is so well bonded to the stainless steel surface, bending and light press works can be done without destroying the color layer. Please keep the protect film on during fabrication to avoid possible scratches.

We recommend Anti-Fingerprint Coating FG3 on all our MS-7xx patterns Fine Color , Antique Fine Color and NINJA BLACK96 .

Note: Because of the mechanism of chemical coloring method, material from different coil and timing of coloring process will affect the final color uniformity between each sheet. Please send us the total required quantity when inquire.

(※1)The finish of Forest Green is limited to only a few patten of Etching ( E707, E718 , and E720 ) and Antique Hairline finish.

(※2)Depending on material lot and surface finish, some colors cannot be produced and color variation might occur. There are several hanging marks about 30mm towards the center from one long side of the sheet, each circle mark’s diameter is approximate 25mm.

(※3)Fine color is not available for flat bar and accessories with mirror finish because hanging suspension is needed.

When it is exposed outside, it may occur stainless steel corrosion and deteriorate coloring appearance, depending upon conditions.
